Can you so "no" to a cute coat?!

Although we are in the mist of spring and occasionally wiping off beads of sweat off of our foreheads already, I still have to need to inform you on a sale going on at Bluefly.

Like most stores, they are having a sale on Spring sweaters and outerwear, but not just any outerwear. They have the hottest, cutest, and trendiest styles and colors on sale. The coat above is by Michael Kors. Now, if any of you are turned off by him because of his job on Project Runway, then this might make you think differently. I love the color, style, length and overall look. I love it! I think it can still be pulled off in this winter.

They have some amazing coats and sweaters. So, if you are one of those people who love to buy things off season to save money, then you should run over to Bluefly!

Here are some more that caught my eye:

I think I fixed it!

I think that everything is fixed...for now that is! It's rainy and windy her in Memphis, so I am going to give throw my sheets and duvet cover in the wash and give my self a mini-mani and a mini-pedi!

O.P.I or bust!

The name of this color is called Italian Love Affair. It's my fav! When I can afford it, I buy two or three at a time. It's been a while since I have able to indulge in that though. This is going to be a dazzling color on my nails. Love light pink on nails! Looks clean and sophisticated!

This is called Holy Pink Pagoda! This is going to be the color "kicking it" on my toes for a couple of days. I usually opt for light pink, but I saw this in the nail salon and decided that my toes deserve a little spice every now and then. I guess then is today!

Busy Bee!

Well, I messed up something where the program won't let me add new posts, so I am writing over a post. Maybe telling you all about my experience with the Becca concealer will help me vent over a little stress.

I have been using these concealer for a week and I am thouriughly pleased. I guess it should considering that it is aimed for women of different ethnicities. It comes in two different shades that are perfect for blending and finding the color coverage. One thing that I did not like is that it tended to dry out the area of skin that I applied the concealer on. To counteract that effect, I just applied a little more moisturizer beforehand and it worked fine.

I would recommend this concealer and general line, because the line offers a lot of color choices and I am sure that you will find something that will fit your make-up needs.

Now introducing...

the two newest items added to my closet today. I decided to go shopping with a good friend of mine today. We went to Macy's, Dillards, Holliday's Fashion, Old Navy, Target, and a bunch of other stores. Unfortunately, with my wallet a little breezy I did not have many options, but I was able to walk through my door with two new things.

The first thing that I got was this blue tote from Target. It is so big and as I have said on previous posts, "I am a sucker for a big bag!" The bag comes in blue (shown), orange, and tan. It was a toss up between the blue and the orange. I settled on blue, because it would look good for with anything for any occasion! Plus, it was a steal for 18.99 bucks + tax!

While she was bringing me back home, we swung by the Old Navy by my house and I snatched up a couple of polo tops from the sale section. I got one in hot pink and one in this celery color green.  I needed more color in my closet. They didn't have them on their online store, but this one looks just like it.

Lately I have noticed that I am buying tops in modern and traditional shapes, but not neccessarily the colors. A couple of weeks I bought two button up and long sleeve shirts in a nice lilac and mint green. I still haven't worn them! I hope these two new polos don't meet the same fate. I doubt it, because I have been feening for some polos!  I would really love a polo top in a nice orange to pair with a pair of dark rinse jeans. I am on the lookout though!

It's getting hot in here!

Here in Memphis our summers tend to be defined by our winters. If we have a warm winter, then our summers are going to be super duper hot. We had a crappy winter this year, except for that day we had a really good snow that lasted for a couple of days and it actually made it feel like Winter for once! Hard thing to find in Memphis sometimes. Anyway, getting back on track, there are some things that I buy in bulk especially for my "Hot Child in the City" times. Here goes my hot weather essential:

The number one item that should be on everyone lists, men and women, is sunscreen! I always choose an oil free sunscreen and this one claims to not clog pores and breakouts and its waterproof! I put it on all skin that will be exposed to sun. I also use it on my face. I mix it with my moisturizer and apply it on my face and then apply my make-up. It works!

The next item I use all year around, but I get the most use out of it in the Spring/Summer. I have been using it for over three years now and I have not lost a single ounce of love for it. Its Jergens Soft Shimmer Skin Radiance Moisturizer. It has a new look and fragrance, but the same great effect on my skin. I mix this with the sunblock and top it with a nice translucent face powder. I am left with the best sunkissed look everytime. The one great thing about it, is that it works great on all skin tone. I am a honey complexion and my younger sister is a really dark and beautiful being and it looks great on her as well. Buy this stuff!

I bought this stuff a couple of weeks ago while I was wandering aimlessly in Walgreens looking for a good wide tooth comb. I read the container and then grabbed a chunk of my thick and slightly dry ponytail and I just instantly felt like they needed each other. I have been using it quite often ever since and bought some more today. The Dove line of products are getting better and exspanding every day! I love it! Another great find while walking in a la Walgreens!

These are just a few items that will be taking up counter and dresser space in my life this summer. They not only make me look better, but also feel better! Well, that's at least what I tell myself when I pass all the crap lined up on my bathroom counter and bedroom dresser!

Staying up late paid off!

As I have said in previous posts, I am a huge basketball fan. While the Spurs and Kings were balling it up in overtime, I decided to browse around the internet and I ran across my new hangout spot and obsession. Allow me to introduce you to my new online fashion and beauty icon: Tia Williams!

Visit her site, if you already haven't, and read her bio. I am impressed and jealous at the same time! It is so nice to find another "brown girl in beauty" (I borrowed that from her ) online! She has an official background in beauty, which is more than I can say. She has the best product recommendations. Here is the first product that I saw on there that I am strongly considering purchasing:

I know that I have said that I am giving up exposing my hair to heat for awhile and embracing my "mixed girl curl", but I would like to have one for when I do decide to hop back on the straight  hair express. Its the CONAIR INSTANT HEAT ULTRA-HOT CERAMIC STRAIGHTENER and it under 25 bucks. I hope that they have this at Wal-Mart or Target near me!

Trust me, her site is worth the space in your bookmark, if it is not already there! Her blog has been up for more than a year and I feel like such a fool for just discovering it! Now I have to go back to "putting on my face", that means putting on my make-up for those of you who didn't know!

Mascara Remover that works and inexspensive!

I tried the make-up eraser by Sephora and it does what it says. Point to remember, the mascara needs to still be wet to get the full understanding. I tried to remover some dry waterproof mascara and I swear that I heard the pen laughing at me as I roughly rubbed the pen near the corner of my eye. Although, its suppose to work on lipstick smudges, it did not remove all the smudge. Maybe, I had too much smudge to remove! Who knows, I'll try another time!

However, the best eye make-up remover I have tried, used, and abused is by Maybelline, which makes sense considering I use their waterproof mascara all the time! The complete name is Expert Eyes Moisturizing Mascara Remover. I apply it with a cotton ball and works almost instantly. Read the directions first, because it is not as simple as wetting cotton ball and wiping off. You are suppose to wait 5 seconds and then tissue it off, but in the end it works.

I always find it amusing how some of the inexspensive products work better than those found in some of your higher end make-up lines and department stores. I guess a name is not everything, especially when it comes to make-up!

I need a break!

I had another interview today. What a way to start off a new week, huh! Anywho, since I live close to the University of Memphis, I decided to stop by the bookstore to see if they had any new alumni items. I picked up this cute teal and tall cup, which was on sale for a little over a buck and a tube of Burt's Bees Shea Butter hand Repair Creme.

For some reason, I have noticed my hands and cuticles have been abnormally dry. I hope the interviewer didn't notice! Back to the subject at hand! I applied some as I was walking out of the store. The creme is thick, but I did notice immediate moisture to my hands. I wanted to slather some over my elbows and knees, but it would look kinda weird rubbing lotion on in the center of student racing to class.

The reason I decided to "invest" in this product because I have tried other products from Bert's Bees before and have been thoroughly pleased in the past. I would like to try the hair products, but I am slightly scared.

I am going to give this a one week trial and decide if this is something to but often, although it was over $10! That is a little exspensive for lotion, oh I'm sorry, I meant creme!

Vera Wang's "Cherish"

I love this perfume! I don't know if it will steal the #1 spot on my fav fragrance list from Ralph Lauren's Romance, but it is #2. I only shift through three different perfumes, so I am not sure if that is such an accomplishment or acknowledgement. Anyway, I wore this the other day and I received quite a few compliments and requests of the name. By the way, I am a compliment whore!

Back to Vera, I just ran across this fragrance a month ago and I have been having an affair with it for over a month behind Romance's back. I got the gift set, which came with the perfume, lotion, body wash, and the cutest little purse companion that is a super small version of the regular size bottle. An essential for having a scent to last all day is to participate in the layering process. When I say that, I mean shower with the body wash, then apply the lotion, and then top it off with the perfume itself. Trust me, you smell great all day!

The lotion is very creamy; almost like milk. It just pours out the bottle! Once you apply it your skin; it just soaks it up. Once the lotion has marinated in yor skin, your skin will have a nice velvet and smooth feel.

The only problem I have is with the body wash. The problem is the same that I have with most perfumed  body washes; they don't lather up good. I love soap and body washes that lather up well, because for some reason I believe that its proof I am actually getting clean. I know that might  sound crazy to a couple of people, but most would probably agree with me!

Despite my little irk with the body wash, I still believe that this is a good scent to invest in. It has a light floral scent, which is perfect for warm weather!

Now excuse me while I slather on my bedtime lotion and sip my ice cold water out of my new ice tea glass!

Stay Stylish! ( and smelling good!)

Benefits of being Broke!

Its weird how deciding to cut back on spending can help you discover something better. Here is my example!

As I have posted in the past; I don't have the best skin in the world. I have combination skin which equals combination problems. Some areas are oily and some areas get acne while others don't. I have tried ProActive in the past, but that monthly withdraw from my credit card caused problems. Then I settled on Clinique 3 step formula for skin type II. It has been wonderful and loyal to me for the past 6 years.

Recently, this week to be exact, I have decided to find a less exspensive routine that would still help maintain my skin and maybe even a little better.

This past weekend I made a routine that I would followed this past week and see the results. First I washed the make-up off my face with the exfoliating soap by Dove. This is just to mainly clean the surface and remove dead skin.

Next thing I did was use Neutrogena Oil free Acne control face wash. I used this to do what the title suggest: Acne Control!

After I patted my face dry, I used Neutrogena Deep Clean Astringent. In the morning I used Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Daily Cleansing Pads intead of astrigent.

The next thing I did was slather Palmer's Cocoa Butter over my face and neck, which includes my lips and eyelids. I not only did this for moisturizer, but to also help tone my skin and fade any blemishes.

Last, but not least, I put Vaseline on my lips and a little under my eyes to prevent wrinkles in the future.

It seems like a lot of work, but it really is not! I have notices that my skin feels much smoother and way less breakouts this week. I think that it might still be a little too early to say anything, but so far so good!

Luscious Links!

The part of my day that I hate the most is the hour that I devote to looking for a new job. To end that dreadful, yet dire need I browse around the internet for new worthy links that I find interesting. So here are a couple:

  • Sassy Bella - It ranges from talking about the latest trends in fashion to even a section on web tech, which is my my first love.
  • Shop My Closet - The name speaks for itself, but it's a fashion blog where the blogtress also sells things from her closet! The stuff she is selling is very closet worthy and some never worn or used.

You all should check those two out! I think they are worth the click.

"Dee" best!

When I was in the 5th grade, I attended this art camp for a couple of weeks. I was really into drawing back then. Anyway, I met this girl , let's call her Dee, who was from New Jersey and a big fan of all the different shades of nail polish I had. We have been friends ever since even though we have hardly seen each other since. Over the years, we have both developed a nice and healthy addiction to make-up. We are "beauty buddies"! If one of us finds a new product or clothing we tell and/or send a copy to the other one.

Well, now she works for some marketing or PR firm in New York and receives make-up samples for free. Occasionally, she runs across a new product that she loves and buys me one. Today, I received a FedEx package from her. BTW, the FedEx guy was hot! Back to the story at hand. Here are the things that she sent, which can also be purchased at Sephora :

The first thing that my hand grabbed was this lip gloss by Hard Candy. Hard Candy is celebrating its 10th anniversary. To celebrate it properly, they have released this gloss which comes in a nice big container with this big, blue, plastic, heart-shaped jewel on the top. Cute! The gloss went on easily and it's a nice neutral pink with light simmer in it. I remember when Hard Candy nail polish came out around the same time that the lovely movie "Clueless" did. Everybody had those weird and different polishes with the plastic rings around the top. *Memories!*

The next thing in the goody box was this powder brush that you can just throw in your purse and go. You can unscrew the bottom and put the powder in and shake it down into the brush and apply. Then you are ready to go! I haven't tried it yet, but the brush is so soft! I can't wait to try it tommorrow.

The final thing is this make-up eraser pen. I need this, because I always have the hardest time putting on mascara without leaving an unwanted mark on my eyelids. Hopefully this will help that problem. It's suppose to even work really well on waterproof make-up. We'll see!*evil grin*

That's going to wrap up this post with a nice little lip glossed and powdered up bow. As the saying goes, "Friends come and go, but 'beauty buddies' last forever! Thanx Dee! I have a new product that I plan on sending her soon.

Wedges, Wedges, and yet more Wedges!

Wedges are the shoes of the season and will carry you into the summer. Once again, I am ahead of the time! While I was in college, the stilleto look swept the nation and the campus of the University of Memphis. I will admit that I jumped on the bandwagon in a pair myself, but that is not the point right now. Back then, while everyone was strutting around in those stilts, I opted for cute wedeges. The sidewalks on campus were not the most well maintained pieces of concrete in the world. I did not want to get my heel stuck in a crack, because that is the type of luck that have. That would have been embarassing! Due to that I have accumulated a boatload of wedges.

I have enough wedges to get me through this year while I look for a new job. Although there are a few shoes out there that have caught my attention, I will refrain myself!

My favorite wedges that I own and are in heavy rotation right now because of the interviews I have been going on are these black, t-strap, round toe, 3 inch Kenneth Coles. I bought  them a couple of years ago at Goldsmith's. I love them, because of the thin wedge and the round toe. They can last for years without ever being seen as out of style. I love a cute pair of practical shoes!

Now feel free to go find you that perfect pair of wedges that will take you places and heights for years to come.

Proud member of the Clinique Click!

I have said in previous posts that I am a loyal fan to Clinique's foundations and some of their powders! I do tend to sample different foundations here and there, but none have taken the place of my beloved Clinique.

I alternate between three types of foundations. The first one, which is my favorite, is the "clarifying make-up clear skin formula". I am human and not perfect, therefore I don't have the best skin in the world. It does help minimize my huge, nasty, and ugly pores, which I inherited from my mom. Thanks, Mom! Anyway, its leaves a nice and smooth feel to my face. Plus, it stays on all day!

The next one is what Clinique has named "work-out make-up." It lasts through heat, humitity, and activities that provoke your sweat glands to make a slip and slide down your face. It is just April and here in Memphis we have already had temperatures in the 90s. Crazy!! This foundation is perfect for those days and I actually wore this make-up today while I battled rain, heat, and sweat. At seven o'clock this evening my foundation was still in place and flawless. A another plus about this foundation is that compared to other "all day" foundations, this is not heavy and "pancakey."

Last, but not least, is the City Base Compact. It fights the nastiness of the environments while making sure your skin is smooth and flawless. I don't use this one much, because it also requires you to finish it with a press powder. One more step that I do not feel like doing everyday.

You know the names, now go look for your self!

One down and one to go!

Sorry for the late post! I had a job interview today, so I was not able to update as usual. After I had to do a grammer test, which I think I stinked at, I decided that I needed a pedicure. There is nothing like a good pedicure to shut you up for the day! I love pedicures, but on to my pic post!

Thanks to one of my lovely readers, I was able to spot that Beyonce bag that she has been dragging around to the Net games. It's by Fendi, whom I adore! It's an embroidered version of there famous Spy Bag.

It has a velvet coin purse and beautiful beading, but at $6,040 I will have to admire it from afar. Now that the "purse search" is over, the shoes ar still needed for questioning! I have not had the time to look for those shoes and I still need to find out who makes them. If you have forgetten how they look, read the previous post.

If you can afford this purse or just want to admire it, then click here !

Gotta love the shoes!

I must find these shoes! I saw them somewhere a couple of months ago and thought they were cute, but now actually seeing someone wear them I know that I want them.

Based on the style, color, and the ornate detail on the back of the heel I feel that they might be by Marc Jacob. Alot of Marc's shoes this season resembles these by the shape, style, and that square toe. All those other Marc Jacob fans know that he loves to dabble in various colors.

There are some people out there that disagree with Bee's clothing and hairstyle choice, but I like it. It's like she has revamped the bohemian style that is plastered all over the place. I personally would love to wear my hair like that, but I don't think that I could pull it off. She can pull it off, because she is Beyonce' and most importantly, her clothes and her make-up are on  point.

Look at that bag. I have seen pictures of her carrying that bag to a few of the Nets game and wondered where she got it from or at least who made. That bag is beautiful and would look beautiful with a pair of dark rinse jeans and a white tee and turquoise sandals.

If I find out who made the shoes and/or bag I will let you know. Or if any of you know, pretty please let me know! Did I say pretty please?!

"Thugs need Hugs " too

For some absurb reason I want this shirt! I love these message shirts, but  I never go places where this shirt is appropriate. I would just get weird stares, but why?

Is there an age when these shirts are no longer appropriate. I am 24 years old and I feel like if I was to walk around in this shirt I would be looked at as immature, and I am not talking about that little boy group from the mid 90s.

I must admit that I am feeling this "primp'n" shirt and would go with my naturally curly hair of the moment. Maybe, it's not the shirts themselves that gives you stare, but the message that is on it. Therefore, when you find yourself browsing those catchy message tees, keep in mind of the reactions you might get.

To purchase the shirts above and others like it, then look here !

Groundbreaking?

As I was over at the beauty addict's site, I was reading her most recent post about make-up lines for women of color. She mentioned a new line offered at sephora that caters to different ethnicities and complexions. The line is called Becca and was created by an Australian make-up artist who was frustrated with trying to find the "perfect foundation".

I headed over to Sephora.com to check it out for myself. After reading about and browsing the line, I decided to purchase one of the products. I decided to order the concealer in Honey. It will arrive here by the end of the week and I will try it out for a couple of days and give you all my personal review. For $35 it better be a must have for me in the future. I am really excited though, because I do have a hard time finding a good concealer that works well with my complexion and tones in my skin. If all goes well, I will probably venture to trying the other numerous products that Becca offers.

Check out the entire line for yourself here !

Putting your "breast" foot forward

Once you start approaching  your mid-twenties, for some reason, some things decide to start heading south a little early and the first "things" that start going are the breast. No matter how well you have tried to defer the plans gravity has planned for you, they still will go down.

If you are already noticing a little shift in the boobage area, then you might want to continue reading about this product that might help you turn back, or should I say push back up, time!

The name of the product is called the Gingi Breast Firming Mask. It sort of resembles a baby wipe with a holes in the center for your nipples, but it supposedly helps to beat gravity. You slap on the masks and wait 30 minutes. You remove them, rinse off your friends, and hope that you notice an improvement.

A friend of mine in New York tried them and said that she did feel an instant firmness after it was all said and done. That is the reason I wanted to inform you all about this product if you are feeling a little "low"!

If you want to find out more or just interested in purchasing them, then go here ! I might, because I rather be early than late.

Here are a couple of links that I think deserves a click :

  • Gallery of the High Heels- Title speaks for itself!
  • Purple rain - A very addictive blog that I ran across. Plus, the blogger is sweet enough to list this site as one that she likes! That should be more than enough for a click!
  • Uberfashionista - For those haute couture lovers out there.

I need to make a page for links, because there are more that I run across that deserve some attention! I might have one up by Friday, but I have a couple of interviews this week and so little time!

A style that I just can't get with!

The new fashion style that is draped on all celebrities and fashionistas worldwide is "skinny jeans". The name says it all, but I will tell you what all the hype is about. They are jeans that are super straight all the way down the leg and are meant to be worn tight. They initially started in Europe, like most popular fashion. Some of the top designers and even the moderate priced clothing stores in the business are filling their lines up with the "it" item of the moment.

According to the fashion gurus that I worship to occasionally, there are some rules to keep in mind when rocking the "skinny jean".The most important thing you need to do is make sure that your legs are up to par, because these jeans are not the most forgiving jeans in the world. They not only show the shape of your legs, but also the tone, if any! Therefore, you will not see me wearing these jeans anytime soon!

For those of you who are lucky enough to pass the "leg test", then you get to move on to the rules and guidelines.

There are certain dos and don't s to wearing the skinny jeans and the first do is to never wear them rolled up. If you want that look, just keep walking toward the capris. They are meant to be worn down to your ankle and not to cover up your shoes, which helps me lead you to the topic of what type of shoes to wear with them.

Luckily, these jeans can worn with various types of shoes that range from heels, wedges, and wearing them tucked into a fabolous pair of boots. The most popular shoe being paired with these are flats, but not in basic colors. Try a color that pops, like white, pink, red, or maybe a nice metallic.

Last , but defintely not least, the choice in tops can make or break this look. The look of the summer will be to pair these jeans with a tank top in any color of your choice, but  stay away from a color that is almost the same color as the jeans. Typically, the color of the jeans should be in a dark rinse without any type of embellishment. Clean look is the phase to follow. Another option in tops is a nice blouse or a long shirt that helps eliminate the view of your "backyard"!

If you keep these rules and guidelines in play, then you will not have a hard time keeping up the look of the moment.

Thanx Melisse!

Thanks to a comment from one of you lovely readers I was reintroduced to a website that I used to visit, but I completely forgot about. That site is Flip Flop Trunkshow . It should be and might be added to my shopping list located to your left.

I decided to go to the website and fawn and pawn over some of the shoes that I might consider giving a pinkie for! As I was browsing on the first page that I clicked on, I ran into this flip-flop fun kit . I definitely think that I am ordering this, because I have a trunk full of plain flip flops that could use a little oomph!

The kit is aimed at teens and kids, but I am still in my early 20s, so maybe I can get away with it. If it goes or looks wrong, then I will just wear those shoes while I am cleaning up around the house.

Now, you all who come to this site often know that I love shoes and can't help but to post shoes that have caught my eye. So here are a couple of pair @ Flip Flop Trunkshow that caught my eye and maybe my wallet.

**I just wish they had prettier feet modeling the last pair!

A hair-rific story!

Well, since I answered the Kiss Me Stace question of the worst fashion mistake I ever made, I have decided to give the worse hair mistake I ever made. So, here goes!

A couple of years ago when I was still in college, I decided to grow out all the chemicals in my hair. At that point I had not relaxed my hair in over three months but I just dyed my hair a couple of weeks beforehand. I had almost 5 years of different shades of red and brown dye in my hair starting from high school until then.

After almost 5 months without relaxing or coloring my hair, I noticed about 3 inches of new growth. Therefore, I made the quick decision to cut all the color I had left in my hair, which wasn't much! I cut about 2 inches of color out, including the front. When I was done, my hair was so short in the front that I couldn't do anything with it. It kind of resembled Lisa Simpson's hair, standing straight up in the front. Even the combination of gel and hair spray could not hold it down. It was bad!

But now, thanks to patience, curly hair styles, and the discovery of my hair mecca, my hair is healthier and at a good length (mid-back to be exact!). I am so proud to say that I am three years sober of relaxers and dye, although I would like to dye my hair a nice chocolate brown.

Manicure Maniac (part duex!)

This post is connected to the previous post. I know first hand that high heel and open toe shoes can be very uncomfortable. So here are a couple of products that I highly recommend, because I have had the chance to use both of these products recently.

The first is the new insole by Dr. Scholl's for her that is meant to cater to women who need a little more comfort when wearing open toe shoes. It comes with a massaging cushion and a lining to go over the gel cushion. The insole provided a nice massaging feeling with every step I made. The extra cushion was much needed and the insole stayed in place the whole time, which I was shocked by because they are quite narrow!

The final product, which is also by Dr. Scholl's, is Dr. Scholl's Exfoliating Foot Cream. I used this yesterday after I got out of the shower and it made my feet so smooth and there was not a crack in sight, baby! Not only did it smooth out my skin, but it helped, as P. Diddy would say, in moisturizing and preserving the sexy!

Manicure maniac!

Since spring is upon us and summer is just around the corner, it is officially sandal weather! Yah! I love sandals, but there are some rules I believe that you should follow before you wear those lovely sandals.

1. Always apply some moisturizer to your feet. In fact carry some in your purse. I have said this before in a post, but it is a very important rule.

2. No bright colors! Bright color polish does not show off your feet or most importantly your shoes. If anything, they take away from the shoe. Stray from yellow, green, and blues, because the last thing you should want on your feet is the color of fungus! Opt for a light natural color, such as nude, light pinks, or a basic shiny clear top coat, because they don't take away from the shoe and your nails don't look dirty!

3. Although long nails look nice on your hands, that does not apply to your feet. Long nails on feet can look scary and dangerous. Keep toenails shaped and filed in clean and smooth edges. Remember, not too long!

My favorite nail look, for hands and feet, is french manicures. Although it costs me a little more, it is so worth it! They go with anything and last longer than polish.

This is my new find that I fell instantly in love with. A friend sent this to me and I am very happy with it and I have alrady ordered two more from sephora. It is a french manicure pen by Sephora and it is so easy to use and quick to dry. I tried it on my toes and I have a feeling that I might be making less trips to the nail salon this season! Saving Mo' Money, Mo' Money, Mo' Money! Sorry, I was watching a DVD of In Living Color early this morning!

Keep what I said in mind and enjoy the weather and wear those shoes and show those toes with confidence!

Shopping/Website Recommendation
I know that it is very hard to find a website where you can purchase genuine, real designer bags for a discount without being a little cautious. Here is a site that sends you real bags at a great price. I ordered a black fendi bag from them before I was sent a genuine Fendi, which I had looked at by a professional just to make sure.
Since I was pleased with my purchase, I am eyeing this bag from a distance, unfortunately.
The reason I am giving you this site is because I think that everyone should know about certain sites and places that offer great products and/or great deals! I love and appreciate my readers and all those who love fashion!

My "I wish I was rich" item of the day!
It costs $2,050 and boy do I wish I had it! I love handbags that can't be found in local department stores here in Memphis so everyone and their dead dog can get one.
This bag is made by Etro and it is a beaded leather drawstring bag and I think I am in love once again! I like very ornate bags because that way I can wear a basic white top and dark rinse jeans, which is my favorite weekend wear.

There's something about these shoes!
Although these shoes seem a little too plain, I actually like the look. Something about them seem stylish and since they are not trendy at the moment I doubt that they will ever go out of style. The are made by nine west ad nine west make great, trendy, and affordable shoes! Something I might want to look into since I am trying to get out of the freelance business. Everyone woman needs a pair of nuetral shoes, but not ageable (a.k.a too trendy)! These shoes seem to fit into that perfectly!
Click here to see them for yourself and the bronze pair!

Now I am off to finish drinking my 2 full glasses of water before I go to bed! It's for my skin and body. I think it slightly helps detox my body!

My new beauty find!
I love this soap! It's by Dove and it's called Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Bar. I saw this in the store last week and decided to give it a try, because I do love Dove products and those commercials with "real women" are lovely. It smells incredible and left my skin feeling super smooth.
I bought the bar, but I am definitely going to get the body wash next. If the bar lathered up as much as it did, then I can't wait to indulge in the suds from the body wash.
My new night routine will consist on showering with the Dove Gentle Expoliating Soap and slathering Johnson's bedtime lotion on afterwards. You should try it, because I can't think of a better way to end a stressful day or any day for that matter.

C4L (Clinique 4 Life!)
I am a huge make-up girl and my favorite is Clinique. I love this stuff because it seems to really work good for my skin type. Now, don't get me wrong, I occasionally buy L'oreal, Nuetrogena, M.A.C, and many other brands, but Clinique is my ultimate make-up high.
You will never know how much I love to see those little green compacts in my big, red make-up case. I personally order mine online, because since I am member I pay no tax and no shipping, which is cheaper than going to the mall!
After expressing my love of Clinique I think that I should give you all my favorite product from them:
This powder works so well for me! It makes my face look so smooth, fresh, healthy and not all "pancake-y". I use the transparency bronze, because it gives me a very light and sheer bronze to my skin without the darkness. I highly recommend it!
Check Clinique.com for yourself to see all the products they have, which range from make-up to skincare to even men products!

"Flip" off!
I love, love, love flip flops. They are my favorite summer fashion item. I have so many pair. Fancy, plain, comfortable, and wedges!
I remember when I was a little girl the only pair of flip flops I had was the jelly kind and I would play in them and later on in the day I would sit out on the front porch and pick rocks out the bottom of them! smile Good Times!

Anyway, nowadays flips flops are so oranate and colorful and super duper stylish and I could not be happier! the prices range from a couple of bucks to in the hundreds. NOTE: I will never see myself paying over $100 for a pair of flip flops. Here are some that I found and love and actually a couple of these I actually own.

Dust off those Khakis,
because according to style and fashion designers and fiends the look for this season consists of browns, cargos, white, and other neutral colors. Kinda like a urban safari! The plus is that you do not have to spend much to achieve these looks. As a matter of fact, the main store pushing this look is Old Navy!
If you are like me, then you probably already have some of the essential items taking up space in your closet. I have at least 5 pairs of khakis and not to mention all the basic black pants. I even have a few cargos left over from the trend of a few seasons ago.

Carnivale de Couture post!
This is my fashion faux pas from many years ago, junior high to be exact. back in the early 90s bright colors were so in instyle! Not just one bright color, but numerous colors all in one outfit. I had these wide vertical stripe long jean shorts that had green, yellow, orange, red, purple, and blue. I would wear those shorts with a bright color (yellow or orange) shirt and about three pair of socks in matching colors. The sad part is that I, along with the coutless others in my school, would walk around school thinking were the best looking things on the planet. All my pictures from the late 80s and early 90s are no longer in tact

This post was for Kiss Me, Stace.

Remember when..
Jennifer Lopez's JLO clothing was nothing but velor sweatsuits, tees, and basic looking jeans. Boy have things changed! I was doing research on an article I am writng about celebrity lines and went to JLO's website and was in awe! There are more things to choose from and have better quality. The line now doesn't just consist of tees and jeans, but lingerie, bags, hats, sunglasses, swimsuits and fabolous shoes! The one thing that I noticed that I am a little concerned about is that JLO now longer has a line for the women with a little something extra, but to each it's own. You know that it is hard for me to have a post about clothes and not show you some of my favorites so here you go:

Quick Post!
Here in Memphis, we are currently experiencing some very bad weather. Therefore, I would like to make a quick post about my fashion philosophy on rain attire. Just say NO to dark color umbrellas, because it' already gloomy outside so why should you have to look just as gloomy. Purchase a nice bright color that will stand out and make people think that you are a fun and interesting person and you won't let a little rain interupt you mood. Even if you are in a crappy mood, a little spalsh of color can say something entirely different. Here is a cute print umbrella by Lulu Guiness that could make a statement on it's own

Well, I have to go because the tornado sirens are sounding and I am loosing my satellite signal.

Stay Stylish!( and safe to everyone experiencing bad weather.)

Are people still sleeping on Payless!
Do not get me wrong, I do have a few pair of designer, expensive, and unneccessary shoes in my mini collection, but I do also have alot of inexspensive, yet cute shoes. Most of these cheap-er shoes were purchased at the one and only Payless.
While growing up, buying shoes from Payless had such a nasty and ugly stigma attached to them that it was embarrasing! Nowadays, Payless has stepped up their foot game so much, especailly for women, that women openly and proudly admit if they purchased a cute pair of shoes from Payless.
I know not everyone is ready to jump up on this train, but if you think about it it will save you a boatload of money in the long run. Why spend almost $500 on a pair of trendy Manolo's when in just two months time they will no longer be in style and taking up much needed space for more things. If the idea of saving money is not convincing you to browse in Payless, then maybe these will:

How cute are these! Plus, they are a fashionable steal for only $16.99!
If you still have that whole "embarassed to be seen in Payless" thing going on, then you can always go to my favorite shopping place: The Internet!
Click Here to go directly to purchase the shoes above.

Inexspensive alternative!
Although some of us were blessed with nice sized lips, there are some people who still want a little "oomph" in the pout. There are numerous products out there that can help achieve that and the most popular one is Lip Venom!
I have tried this one in the past and my lips still feel like they are on fire. I felt stupid because I already have nice round lips, but I had to try. Apparently the company got enough compalints about the intense feeling on the lips so they came out with Lip Venom Lite. It's a lot better than the original. They're both priced at $16 a pop, but that can be a little too pricey for a pout. Here's an alternative that I found to work just as well, without all the burning of the lips and it's under 4 bucks!

It's called Mega Plump by Wet N Wild. You all know the cheap stuff sometimes works just as well as the expensive stuff and you look just as good. Remember the word sometimes!! You can find this at any Walgreens, Wal-Mart, CVS, Ike's, or whatever!

A top almost everyone can have!
It is hard to find a top that is in junior and plus sizes, but there are some stores that cater to both and I applaud those stores. It is sometimes unfair to limit the styles to plus sizes, but her is a cute and stylish shirt that everyone can have. It is a victorian style top. They are slightly different, but not too different to love!

The good news is that they both can be found at your local Old Navy! Perfect for spring and summer time and maybe up until the fall. Nice and affordable, just the way I like it!

I love them!

I used these in the design of my first layout for this site and now I am the proud owner of these lovely and super sexy shades. I love big, palstic shades. That is the only benefit of having a round face is being able to pull off big shades.

Rule for buying shades: The style of shades you purchase depends on the shape of your face. Later I will post what face goes with what type of style!

Products Post!
Sorry for the lack of updates, but I have been dealing with a major headache today. To make up for it I have two product recommendations for you. I purchased both of these yesterday for the first time.

The first thing is the Johnson&Johnson's bedtime lotion. Although it was made to help babies relax at night, it works just as well on adults. I smeared it over me last night when I got out of the shower and the smell of lavender soothed me to bed. If you haven't tried it, you should give it go.

Second! Since my hair is growing so long and thick, I have decided to embrace my natural curls and give my flat iron a rest. Therefore, yesterday I bought a couple of products for natural and curly hair, including the new Fructis Curl Cream Strong. I used it this morning am I thoroughly pleased! I highly recommend it!

The good things about these products is that you can find them at any drugstore near you and of course Wal-Mart were I purchased mine at!

Cute shoes!
Christina Millian was recently on TRL and I ran across these pictures of her on Concrete Loop. I am not a fan of the pants at all, I might pair the shirt with a cute short skirt, and I am loving the shoes! I wish I could see a up-close picture of them. The hair.....give me a minute!

Minute up! I like the hair on her, but ladies remember that everything that looks good on one does not look the same on another.

While I pull my hair out over this site...
Here is beautiful dress for you to pawn over.

Although I am really not a dress person, this dress could make me change my mind. I must say that there is something about this dress that makes want to get rid of all my pants and fill my closet up with nothing but dresses, but that is not going to happen anytime soon.
You can find this dress along with countless other beautiful spring/summer clothes over at Girlshop.

For my curly hair people!
I have naturally curly hair and usually keep it straight. I occasionally wear it curly, but now my hair is really getting long and thick. Therefore, I do not have the time or energy to keep straighten my hair. I have opted to mainly wear it curly, but I get major frizz when it dries. So, i took a trip over to Mecca and they sent me to a new place. Say hello to the newest addition to my Beauty and Fitness folder in my Bookmarks: Naturally Curly!

I have already spotted a couple products that I plan on trying this week! I will let you know how that goes.

Every woman needs a little "Romance"!
I Love This!
This is my favorite perfume ever. I have been using this for over 5 years now and I do not plan on stopping any time soon. It is perfect for spring, but just as good all year round. There have been other perfumes that have caught the attention of my nose while walking through the cosmetic department at Macy's and Dilliards, but this one has always have been my favorite and always will.
If you have never tried it, you should. It has that nice, clean, and cool scent that is not overbearing to your nose and others, which makes it perfect for spring! Here's a plus, every guy that I dated since I started wearing it loved the way it smells!

Recently, I did purchase Vera Wang's and Sarah Jessica Parker's perfumes and I do love them, but I they have not taken the place of my Romance by Ralph Lauren.
