Party Time!

As part of the wonderful world of beauty and fashion blogging, I have been invited to a nice handful of fashion shows/parties for fashion week. Unfortunately, being sidelined here in Memphis, I can't make it to take a bite out of the big apple and fashion week! Believe me, it hurts to have to reply to those messages with "regretfully decline". However, this weekend, I will be helping my dear friend Anissa celebrate the big 2-6! Wow, it seems like it was just yesterday we were fight over who loved curly fade rocking Dalvin from Jodeci more! By the way, that love of him has fizzled out like a candle in a thunderstorm.

So, Happy Birthday, Anissa and anyone else celebrating a birthday soon(Hiya, Toni!)!

Birthday Bellas...Cameron Diaz

Today, the super talented Cameron Diaz turns 35! I absolutely ADORE her style. She seems to favor my outfit of choiceL white tee and jeans. Just like, she accessorizes the tee/jeans look with gorgeous heel and a big  beautiful bag. However, her's are usually designer with the price tag to prove and mine is usually the flyest bag in Target! Anyway, despite her simple and chic style, she does venture out and does daring things with her clothes and hair. Gotta love it and RESPECT her for that! So, I wish her a happy 35th b-day!!

Accessory Bug is a bag hag's dream!

One of the most important things you HAVE to have in your closet are stylish handbags. Unfortunately, like most essentials, they can come at a high price. Luckily, there are fantabolous sites like Accessory Bug that offer all the fab without the bleeding wallet! Isn't that red bag a serious distraction! So, I might I suggest that you start bulking up your handbag closet by stopping by Accessory Bug to get you bag fix!

Lazy Sunday Afternoon!

Milly Psychedelic Shift Dress, $410, Intermix

What else is there to do on a Sunday afternoon when you are stressed because of an inbox full and folder full of work...de-stress yourself out by browsing some of your favorite shopping sites.!!!!

Me and my unmanicured nails tapped over to INTERMIX online and headed straight for the dresses. After not being taken by anything in the daytime look, my eye for print got super happy for this dress in the evening dress section.

Although this dress was in the evening section, I think that the most confident fashionista could pair this with a flat strappy sandal and easily transform this dress into a daytime look. I would!!!

WARNING: Hot Music Promos!!

The promotional pics for Keyshia Cole's new album have been released and I must admit that homegirl is looking too gorgeous in them! Although I have read some people question the cover,  I LOVE it!! Her eye make-up game in  the picture to the left of the CD cover is RIDICULOUS! I'm not that good at smokey eyes, but I am getting better and looks like I am going to have to get better quick. Time to load up on black eyeliner, watch out Walgreens on Park, because I'm coming!

Oh, Keyshia Cole's new album will be released on September 25th, the day before my B-Day...write them dates down, chicas!!

Common: this man is too fine to not post! When I saw his name in the subject box in my inbox, I couldn't open it quick enough. Imagine the utter glee to see that there were photos from his latest video, Drivin' Me Wild,  attached. Yeah, life can be good, can't it!!

To see this marvelous man in video form, check out the MTV World Premiere of the aformentioned video on August 27th (My brother's B-Day, but you don't have to write that down), which features London spitfire, Lily Allen.

This single is featured on Common's #1 album Finding Forever, which is in stores NOW!! Dope album, by the way! Check out more on this fine specimen of man by visiting his website, www.common-music.com.

For the past few weeks I have been sneaking around every corner of various shoe stores and underground online sneaker shops looking and stalking Nike courts and dunks. However, I haven't been stalking just basic white and back D+Cs, I'm wanting multi-colored ones and ones with interesting patterns on them...basically, fly kicks! Online Store Spotlight: femminastyle vintage

Since I am such a fan of vintage clothes and encourage you all to jump on the bandwagon, I love to spotlight little online boutiques that cater to the vintage loving vixen in all of us,  just like femminastyle vintage.

Femminastyle vintage features clothing and accessories from the 50s-80s. Luckily, they have a nice sale going on which includes 30% off everything in the store. Lovely, I know! The double edge sword about vintage shopping is that there is only one item like it so you don't have to worry about seeing someone else in it, but you have to get it before someone else does!

I REALLY want this blouse, by the way!! Go have a look around for yourself and see can you spot a VERY affordable piece of vintage fab to add to your wardrobe!

Yay or Nay: Celebrity Scents

Seriously, this is getting a little out of hand! When it comes down to the Becks releasing their own frangrances only 2 months after 'invading' the U.S, then there are way too many loopholes for this celebrity trend. However, I must admit that I am more than curious to try Gwen's L.A.M.B scent, since I LUST the clothes and accesories from the same line! We'll see. Still, are any of you over it or feel the same apparently as perfume companies: the more the merrier!

Nine's new line of denim

Nine West has decided that after making fabolous and semi-affordable shoes were just the tip of the ice berg in their fashion forest. Over the years, Nine West has slowly been releasing simple yet chic clothing and now they have decided to take on one of the popular piece of clothing in closets everywhere...jeans!

The selection of styles and washes are not huge, but they have gathered up enough to make sure that you can purchase any of the current denim trends from them. I must admit that they are kind of cute. However, take a few blinks at them for yourself!

Being Bee's Big Bags

You might noticed that Miss Beyonce has love of HUGE designer bags. Well, she has a reason for this. Over the years, Beyonce has learned to always be photo ready and always carries specific items to make sure of that. She always carries three pair of sunglasses (black, brown, and gold and a nude-colored or gold pair of Christian Louboutins just in case she has to do an instant 'upgrade' to her outfit.

Miss Knowles is not alone in the love of carrying big bags to hold clothing and fashion choices. I always carry two pair of sunglasses(black and brown), myself! However, I got that idea from Oprah, not Bee!

When I was in college, I would always throw an extra pair of shoes in my handbag or backpack just in case I broke a heel or something. The extra-pair-of-shoes-in-the-backpack paid off one day when I broke the strap to a pair of sandals. The sidewalks around The University of Memphis were no joke! Nowadays, when I have to go to an interview or meeting, I wear flats there, but change into heels in the car of lobby of the building. I doubt I will ever let that go!

Also, I carry around a pair of hoops and solitaires, a bright scarf just in case I feel that I need a splash of color somewhere, and I also throw in a snazzy headband. Heat can kill a smooth hairline!!

Anyway, are there in of you out there who also carry around extra clothing and accessories for those 'just in case' scenarios?

My heart can't go on, without these shoes!

Charles David Candy Apple Heel, $32.50, Alloy

I have an extra $50 to spend and I am SERIOUSLY considering adding these edible looking jewels to my shoe closet. I first saw them in my little sister's Alloy catalogue and I have been secretly scoping them out since. I think that my heart can't take not being close to them. Yeah, the heel does look a little intimadating, but the candy apple red and hidden platform make me feel a little better. I thnk I might just have to get them and maybe you should, too!!

Introducing.... "Vintees"!

I love tees...just in case you can't recall the other 5 gazillion times I have mentioned it in the past. One of my favorite style/ trend of tees are retro and vintage tees that my friends and I affectionately call "vintees"! Anyway, they are so comfortable and uber soft. The over washed look of thinning material and faded graphics and colors make me swoon. I recall once when my ex asked me why I kept all my old t-shirts. I said to sleep in them, but truthfully I am growing them into vintess in my dresser drawers. Give them enough time and neglect and they will grow and fade into a brand new batch of vintees!

However, if you can't wait to grow your own, then here are a few instant vintees!

1. Wonder Woman Tee, $26, Intuition 2. Lakers Nation Vneck Tee, $27, 80s Purple 3. Detroit Piston Tee, $48, 80s Purple 4. Miami Heat Tee, $22.50, Alloy 5. MTV Spot Logo, $26, 80s Purple 6. Harvard Tee, $19.50, Alloy

Diddy doing it again

Well, some of you might remember a couple of years ago Sean John FINALLY ventured off into designing a female line counterpart to the enourmously huge and popular Sean John's men line. Unfortunately, it didn't take off as well as the mens collection. I remember people commenting on the sizing.

Anyway, Sean & Co. are going to give it another shot using some familiar faces from music and film in its campaign this Spring, which is going to include singer and former model Cassie.

"I wanted the campaign to be like Diddy's angels. I think that Asia, Lauren and Cassie represent the Sean John girl in a perfect way."
Sean "Diddy" Combs
Diddy is preparing to break through in various areas of the womens category including an introduction this October for Unforgiven for Women and later on Sean John junior sportwear.

I hope he gts it together and on the scale of Sean John for men, because I have to admit that his men's line is superb.

NNNNOOOO, NOT MY LOVER, FENDI!!!

Fendi Forever Sequined Borsa, $760, Saks

For those of you who are daily readers of this site probably can recall some of the posts that have contained my love for Fendi. I would probably kill for my small but hopefully large in the future Fendi collection. However, this Fendi explosion of loud metallic colors and sequins in the shape of a bag has me seriously pulling at my curls in frustration and confusion. How can Fendi release this bag? I was going to post this as a "Yay or Nay", but I couldn't find any possibilty of 'yay' in my Fendi loving heart.  What will my love for Fendi be like after we get over this huge, metallic speed bump in our relationship?! Share beauty products with your grandma!

Since I started lusting and patting myself on the back for finally giving up my almost life long addiction to biting my nails, I marvel at them the most when they are perfectly polish with enough shine to give candy apples a run for its money.

However, after all that polish my nails are now a nice and lovely hue of soft yellow. Yellow is one of the 'it' colors of the moment, but not for your or my nails! The best way to whiten your nails? Polident. Believe it or not, soaking your nails in Polident for 15 minutes once a week will get and keep them white and bright, just how I like my tenni sshoes or 'trainers' as Vicky Beck and other Londoners call them. I love that, by the way!

Also, to keep them right and white, invest in a good base coat and top coat loaded with SPF. The sun can be devil on beauty, huh!?!
