Reading is fab and fun-damental!

As much as I love shopping and virtually stalking fab finds, I equally love books! I feel that reading helps me keep my brain pumping since I graduated from college. I don't think that reading blogs and the ticker at the bottom of ESPN and CNN keep the brain cells multiplying!

Therefore, I decided it was about time I give my ever bulging bookshelves some competion to vie for my attention. Here is what I picked up as I desperately tried to avoid wandering into Macy's and hitting the bag/shoes/cosmetic departments. Damn Macy's for having those departments right next or directly across from each other!!!

Oh, yeah, books.

Women, Race, & Class by Angela Davis- I first had to read this book in college for African American Political Thought from 1900. Long title, but great class. I believe its a book that EVERY woman should read to see what our sex had to overcome, especially black women. I read this book and the Bible at least once a year. However, I lost this book and I desperately needed to replace it. Actually, I was shocked to find the book in the store. I thought that I was gonna have to go online! Anyway, I have already started reading it again.

Skinny Bitch by Kim Barnouin- I am definitly not the thinniest/smallest person in the world. I don't mind, because I think curves are FABOLOUS! However, I am not the healthiest eater in the world. That, I don't like. I heard that this is one of those books that is blunt and kind of vulgar, but delivers the info and facts that you need to know to improve your eating habits. The last time that a book did that to me was after I read Upton Sinclair's The Jungle. I lost about 15 pounds in a month from lack of desire to eat meat. You have to read it to know what I mean. Anyway, I have glossed over a few pages of 'Skinny Bitch' and I already feel like I've been slightly abused verbally! Excited!!

The Answer by Randy Pope- I am so sick of hearing about this book and "new" way of thinking and achieving success. However, since our country's queen a.k.a Oprah talked about it on her show, I felt that it was more than worth the buy. Definitely, I'm gonna read this! However, this will probably be the last of the three that I read.

Well, those are the newest additions to my bookshelf, Feel free to increase your brain cells and grab a new book!

Stay Stylish!
